Gimp Wire, also known as Stiff/Purl/Jaseron/Gijai Wire, is a fine, tightly coiled copper wire. This wire is continuous in length and must be used with care, it is usually cut into small pieces, to put onto a thread like a bead and sewn on a fabric with the help of a normal needle or Aari needle.

It is used in Aari/Zardozi/Tambour/Luneville Goldwork Embroidery & jewelry making.
